When Jen contacted me about doing a late November portrait session in York, Maine I thought we’d be bundled in woolen coats and mittens.  But thankfully Mother Nature obliged us with some moderate temps that let us take our time (much to Buddy’s dismay).  Jen and Buddy wanted to get some informal portraits at the beach in York where Buddy grew up.  I was unfamiliar with that particular strand of beach so we agreed to meet in the parking lot at nearby Cape Neddick Lobster Pound.  Much to my delight I found the place deserted — off season Maine at it’s finest — and a photographer’s dream.  Behind the main parking lot stands a perfectly weathered fishing shack completely covered with lobster pot buoys and old oars.  I am so delighted to have met Jen and Buddy, and these pictures are some of my favorites.

Every wedding season I look forward to heading up to Bar Harbor at least once.  It was no different this past October when I found myself driving to the Bar Harbor Club for Heather and Ben’s wedding.  Heather is a bride after my own heart — organized and in complete control.  Rain in the forecast? No problem, Heather found matching wellies and umbrellas for her bridesmaids so the weather was an accessory instead of a hindrance.  Loooong list of group shots?  Again, not a problem for Heather who memorized the list in order to help keep us on track.  As for the groom, Ben, well the smile never left his face all day.

Heather and Ben had amazing wedding guests who kept me smiling and laughing and who inspired me with the love and support they showed the bride and groom.  It was a joy and honor to be a part of such a special occasion.  And I cannot say enough wonderful things about the Bar Harbor Club and especially Deb who makes sure everything runs smoothly.

Best wishes to Heather and Ben for a long life together filled with joy and gratitude.  Click here to see the slideshow of highlights from their wedding.  Friends and family should contact the bride and groom for access the online gallery on Pictage.
