When Jen contacted me about a spot in my fall mini sessions I was so thrilled. We went to high school together! It is always so fun to reconnect with old friends from Connecticut. Unfortunately for us, the 20 minutes for the mini session went by too fast to feel like we had time to catch up on the last 20 years! And of course those 20 minutes were spent shivering and hiding from the crazy wind gusts. It wouldn’t be a fall mini session if one of the days didn’t suffer from terrible weather…

I’ve been fortunate enough to photograph this awesome family for three years now. This year not only was it not freezing, but the children also were totally on board with me taking pictures. Well maybe not so much the baby, but next year we’re totally going to win him over!

When it’s your family’s first mini session, our time together can seem too brief. There’s always a bit of time needed to get the little ones into the right frame of mind for the shoot. As a result, we don’t always get a ton of pictures — we definitely get at least one, but maybe not as many as we’ll get at future sessions (or at a full portrait session). I’m looking forward to photographing these guys again and getting them even more great images because these aren’t too bad for their first time!
