I am often asked\u00a0why a couple would want to do an engagement session.\u00a0 In theory, an engagement session should\u00a0be\u00a0scheduled shortly after you get engaged.\u00a0 The images could then be used for an engagement announcement or a save the date card.\u00a0 In reality, we are often doing this shoot a couple of months before the wedding.\u00a0 So why still do it?\u00a0 You might decide to have me\u00a0use the images to create a custom designed\u00a0book\u00a0that your guests can sign at your wedding reception.\u00a0 Or maybe you simply would like to have some really nice informal photos of the two of you.\u00a0 But more importantly,\u00a0an\u00a0engagement session is a great opportunity for us to get to know each other and for you to get some experience in front of the camera.\u00a0 The time we spend together on the shoot lets us establish a rapport that will help\u00a0make getting great shots on your wedding day a snap.<\/p>\n

Kim and Chris are getting married in October at Camp Hammond<\/a> in Yarmouth, ME.\u00a0 They hired me over the winter and wanted to wait until summer for their engagement session.\u00a0\u00a0After one\u00a0cancellation due to torrential rains, we picked another day and crossed our fingers that this kooky Maine summer weather would give us the break we needed to get outside and shoot.\u00a0 We scored a perfect day and headed over to Fort Williams in Cape Elizabeth.\u00a0 There’s not much to complain about when your job is to photograph\u00a0a fun, laid back, and fearless\u00a0couple.\u00a0 They willingly climbed\u00a0rocks, stood at the cliff’s edge,and braved\u00a0ravenous\u00a0mosquitos.\u00a0 It was a busy day at the park\u00a0 yet somehow they managed to\u00a0ignore the people around them and\u00a0give me some of the sweetest and\u00a0most intimate\u00a0shots.\u00a0\u00a0Choosing just a couple of images to share here was a huge challenge.\u00a0 Can’t wait for the wedding!<\/p>\n
