One Year!

March 25, 2010

One of the joys of a “grow with me” package (a set of three photo shoots in the baby’s first year) is witnessing the amazing development that occurs in a baby’s first year.  It is such an honor to document a child’s first year.  From the very first session with Miss Molly Shea, I knew we were going to get some wonderful images.  She did not disappoint.  I just hope she forgives us for the cake incident…

Big props to Molly’s mom for always coming up with some great outfits.  At the end is a shot I grabbed of Jack.  He was so kind to offer to sing to Molly when we needed her to smile.  Molly sure is lucky to have such a great big brother!

Edwin’s Second Session

November 30, 2009

It wasn’t too long ago that I first had the pleasure to meet this cutie pie.  Of course, he was a wee little thing back then.  For this second photo shoot we decided to meet up at Bradbury Mountain State Park in Pownal, Maine.  Having never been there before, I wasn’t sure what to expect.  It turned out to be the perfect spot for a fall photo session.  Thanks to Edwin’s parents for helping make this shoot such a success.  I think the images so wonderfully capture Edwin’s many expressions.  Some of my favorites are below. Enjoy!

Autumn Portrait of Sydney

November 7, 2009

Photographing Sydney for the fifth time in her life meant we hit the ground running.  Literally.  There was no weary peeking out from behind mommy’s legs, no need to for encouragement to come in front of the camera, no promises of sweets or a trip to the playground necessary to get the photo session started.  Sydney just bound out of the car and started doing her thing.   Without a doubt, one of the biggest advantages to going to the same photographer for all of your kids’ portraits is the trust and relationship that develops.   I’m not some stranger behind a big black camera, I’m the silly lady they remember from the last time.

I loved so many of the images from that day and found it really hard to narrow it down to just a few.  With those big blue eyes, pinch-able cheeks, and big personality it’s hard to take a bad picture of Miss Sydney!
