I was looking at my website yesterday and saw the first portrait session I did with these guys. It wasn’t that long ago, but the kids have changed so very much in that short time. I’m so glad we do these pictures — it never ceases to amaze me how the time flies.

Spent a fun afternoon photographing this young man. Scarborough High School is fortunate to have his talents at work in the theatre department. He’s hard at work on the set designs for the upcoming performance. There are so many great images. When I get out from under all the edits from mini sessions and wedding books I’ll post more.

Living and working on the coast of Maine certainly has its benefits. But it also presents some challenges. Families often want portraits at the beach in the summer. The problem is that the light is harsh and unforgiving most of the day. Even starting early in the morning makes for squinty eyes and blown out backgrounds. But when there are little kids who won’t be in any kind of good mood for pictures at 7 PM, we make it work. Besides, there are worst things than having to deal with sunshine at the beach…

Rosie came to me wanting a portrait of her husband’s immediate family and pictures of just her family. It was such a delight to meet this family. I am so thrilled to be able to give them some beautiful portraits to remember this time in their lives.
