Monique and Justin are the kinds of clients every wedding photographer wants.  They’re fun, emotional, and smoking hot.  I knew this months before I ever met them in person.  Monique and I connected on Facebook, and I have never had more fun “getting to know” a client.  By the time I met her in person — when I walked into the bridal suite at the Eastland the morning of her wedding — I’m not sure who was more excited about the wedding, me or her.  Okay, it would be IMPOSSIBLE for anyone to be more excited than Monique (see the first photo below).   This wedding was one of many emotions, and everyone close to the bride and groom happily got caught up in it.

I loved working with Monique and Justin and their family and friends.  I could photograph you all every weekend.  Below are some of my favorite images from the day.  It was hard to narrow it down to just a few.  Please make sure you check out the slideshow to see more.  Friends and family, you can see the entire online gallery here (contact the bride or groom for the password).   Congratulations to Monique and Justin!  Thank you for letting me be a part of your amazing world.

Ginger and Will were a mystery to me – I’d been hired by Will’s parents and had little contact with them before their wedding.  When they suggested meeting two weeks before their wedding, I jumped at the opportunity put faces with names.  We decided to meet at the Casco Bay Lines ferry terminal and visit their wedding location, Diamond Cove on Great Diamond Island.  It’s always a bit nerve wracking when I have no idea what a couple looks like, but when I saw Ginger and Will I felt like I’d hit the jackpot.

The wedding was a true east meets west affair.  Ginger is from LA, and she’s half-Filipino and Will is from the east coast and spent his teen years here in Portland.  Almost all of the bride’s side and the couple’s friends hailed from the west coast.  GDI was a bit of culture shock for them – in a good way I think.  Family and friends were the central focus of the event.  Ginger’s aunts created the beautiful floral arrangements and bouquets, a friend of the groom performed the ceremony, and the reception was rocking thanks to the talents of many of the guests.  Every time I turned around someone new was up on stage.  The groom even took a turn at the mike and keyboards.

I couldn’t be more pleased with the results of my day – the images speak to the fun easy spirit of these two.  Congrats to Ginger and Will!  Thank you for trusting me to capture your wedding day!

Most of the wedding was DIY.  The wedding dress is Melissa Sweet for Priscilla of Boston.  The bridesmaids’ dresses were also Melissa Sweet, and the cake is from New England Couture Cakes.

It was a hot and steamy day at the Portland Head Light — in a good way!
