Erin and Dave (you might remember their engagement session) put a lot of work into creating a romantic and vintage feel for their wedding at Gilsland Farm Audubon Center in Falmouth, Maine. They pulled it off with flying colors. The day was spectacular. From start to finish I saw love and joy and support for Erin and Dave.

Gilsland Farm has beautiful scenery and loads of wildlife — birds galore, adorable woodchucks, and a not so cuddly wild turkey.  The wedding ceremony was under the shade of the large trees (homes to the woodchucks) next to the Audubon Center.  The reception was held under a tent, and the party did not stop until late in the evening. As I was walking to my car at the end of the night I saw a full moon high in the sky above the still rocking tent. Not able to walk away from that without grabbing a few shots, I quickly pulled out my camera and shot a few exposures. It was a fun way to end a truly wonderful day.

Many thanks to Erin and Dave and to their family and friends for welcoming me so warmly and for giving me so many amazing moments to photograph. It was a true pleasure to work with everyone.

I had a hard time narrowing down this wedding for this blog post. But there’s still more to see in this slideshow.

Many thanks to the wonderful professional vendors who helped make this wedding so wonderful. Beautiful natural setting is Gilsland Farm Audubon Center. The bride wore Galina and bridesmaids wore Suzi Chin.  The bride’s hair and makeup is by Head Games Salon. Flowers by Harmon’s and Barton. Ceremony and cocktail hour music performed by the Tick Tock Trio. DJ Todd “The Rocket” kept the party going well into the night. And last but not least, almost all of the details and decorations were either found or made by the bride and groom.

I always get giddy when UPS drops off a new wedding book. After many weeks of work, it’s always a thrill to look at the finished book. This is a 10×10 Fine Art Book with a custom photo cover.

Don’t you love how the image wraps around the edges of the cover?

The Fine Art Book pages are thick and rigid and feature a luscious matte texture. I love the saturation and crispness of the images printed on this paper.

These Fine Art Books are simply gorgeous. Each one is fully custom, and you can choose a variety of options for the cover including the photo version you see here as well as leather, fabric, and a fusion cover that combines both an image and leather or fabric.

Livia and Chris had quite possibly one of the most perfect summer days for their Rockport, Maine wedding. It was a welcome break from the sweltering Saturdays I’d been working all summer long. I hadn’t been up to the Samoset Resort in a number of years and I was pleasantly surprised to find the place newly renovated. It looks amazing!

Livia was getting ready in an enormous sun-filled room. She and her ladies were so laid back and joyful — a good sign at the start of a wedding day for sure. Wanting special moments together in private, Livia and Chris decided to see each other before the ceremony. This afforded us some wonderful, quiet, stress-free time to walk around the Samoset’s gorgeous seaside grounds for pictures. We were able to go all the way down to the Breakwater and still had time to get some of the group shots as well.

It’s really hard to beat the relaxed feel of a seaside wedding at a resort like the Samoset. This wedding was certainly no exception to that rule. Ceremony and cocktails hour was under a blue bird sky, dinner was with long rays of sunlight streaming in through the sides of the tent, and as the sun went down guests meandered around the property taking in the beautiful sunset. It was a spectacular day. Of course, then the DJ cranked up the music and the dance floor was jammed all night long.

Best wished to Livia and Chris! Many thanks for having me photograph your beautiful wedding. It was a true honor to be a part of your day.

Some highlights of the day are below and you can see more here.
