You may recognize this sweetie pie. It was such a joy for me to have the opportunity to photograph Mia and her parents again. Mia was barely walking the last time I saw her. When I photographed her more recently, she was running around, chatting and giggling like it was a warm summer day and not a blustery late winter afternoon at the beach. The session was challenged by ridiculous wind, but we managed to hunker down amongst the dunes at Ferry Beach for a set of images that truly captures Mia’s personality. Here are just a few of the many winning shots from that day. Enjoy!

I photographed Charlie while his mama was pregnant, and a couple of months later I was delighted to get to photograph his new baby sister.  We pulled up a chair in front of some gorgeous window light. Eloise was not sure what to make of it all, but between the three of us I think we pulled it off. We have already had her second session (stay tuned!). Looking forward to her third – this little girl gets more adorable each time I see her!

I am pleased to offer a package of three portrait sessions during baby’s first year. Please contact me for more information.

I fully intended to share these images with you back in October to get you all interested in doing portraits for the holidays. But I was so far in the weeds editing wedding images that I never got a chance to post anything. It pained me that all of these wonderful images were left languishing on my hard drive so I’ve put a few together for you at long last. We shot all of these images in the very late fall/early winter (of 2011 I’m ashamed to say). Mainers don’t let a little cold weather keep them indoors, and for that I am truly grateful. In studio portraits might be easier in terms of controlled lighting and weather conditions (i.e. no wind), but they lack the environmental element that I think is so special about living here on the coast of Maine.
